Cleaning Procedures
Clean fixture lenses with soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch lens surfaces. Remove calcium deposits using vinegar solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Never use pressure washers on fixtures.
Seal and Gasket Inspection
Remove fixtures periodically to inspect seals. Look for signs of hardening, cracking, or compression set in rubber components. Replace seals at first sign of deterioration. Use only manufacturer-approved replacement seals and gaskets.
Electrical Connections
Check all electrical connections during maintenance. Look for corrosion on terminal posts. Clean corrosion with appropriate contact cleaner. Ensure all wire terminals are secure. Any signs of overheating require immediate attention.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
If lights fail to turn on: check breaker, transformer output, and controller functions. If lights flicker: inspect connections and check for loose wires. If colors are incorrect on RGB fixtures: reset controller and verify correct wiring.
When to Replace Fixtures
Consider replacement when: fixtures show visible corrosion that cannot be cleaned, water intrusion damages LED modules, lens has significant scratches affecting light output, or fixtures are over 10 years old with declining performance.
